SAULT STE MARIE, Mich. – A 24-year-old man from Ontario was arrested in the Upper Peninsula after reportedly being caught driving a stolen semi truck.
According to authorities, a Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Officer was on patrol near the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge on Dec. 12, when he saw a semi truck that had commercial vehicle violations.

A traffic stop revealed that the truck had been recently stolen from Ontario. Its VIN was reportedly altered in a failed attempt to conceal its identity.
The truck and the trailer were seized and towed.
The driver, identified as Yuvraj Singh, was charged Monday, Dec. 15, with receiving and concealing a stolen motor vehicle, concealing or misrepresenting the identity of a motor vehicle with intent, and possessing an invalid license plate.
Singh was given a personal recognizance bond and is required to surrender his passport, not leave the state and to be monitored by GPS tether.
